In summary, silicon metal scrap is a good deoxidizer and desulfurizer.
For the same reason, silicon slag can be used instead of ferro silicon for steel plants and foundries. It is cheaper than ferrosilicon and can apply in electric furnaces and converters. It has strong deoxidation and desulfurization capabilities.
