Silicon Carbon Alloy, also known as Carbon Silicon Alloy, High-Carbon Silicon or Silicon Recarb, is a by-product from the production of Silicon Metal that mainly contains of Si and C elements. It is a perfect substitute of ferrosilicon, silicon carbide and recarburizer in the production of steelmaking. It is widely used and very-well accepted as a new type of alloy in metallurgy industries.
Properties:
- Used as deoxidizer in converter steelmaking process. It is with stable physical and chemical properties and much cheaper price comparing to other deoxidizers like ferrosilicon. Means it helps to reduce the production cost of steel.
- Si-C alloy plays a good role in the slagging process. The Si content not only react with oxygen but also with other impurities in the liquid steel, so it will assist the forming of slag to purify the steel product.
- The C content in Silicon-Carbon will increase the furnace temperature, accelerate the reaction speed of elements in ferroalloys so as to rise the conversion rate of steel alloying process.
- Because it contains both Silicon and Carbon, so it can make deoxidizing and recarburizing at the same time. Meanwhile, it contains very little harmful element like S, P, in all it will shorten the production time and save production cost.
