Ferrosilicon is made by coke, steel scrap (iron oxide scale) and quartz (or silicon) as raw materials through electric furnace to smelt. Ferrosilicon Ferro Silicon Ferro-Silicon FeSi Fe-Si is mainly composed of silicon and iron. Because silicon and oxygen are easy to synthesize silica, so ferrosilicon is a great deoxidizer in steel making.

In casting industry, Ferrosilicon Ferro Silicon Ferro-Silicon FeSi Fe-Si plays an important role of alloying element additive. It has wide applications in low alloy structural steel, spring steel, bearing steel, heat resistant steel and electrical silicon steel.

Besides, Ferrosilicon is also a material in Magnesium metal production; Ferrosilicon powder can be used as a suspension phase in the mineral processing industry. FeSi is also important in electrode coating of electrode manufacturing. High silicon ferrosilicon is material to prepare semiconductor pure silicon and manufacture silicone and so on.

Applications:

1. It is a good deoxidizer and alloying agent in the steel industry;
2. It is a good inoculant and spheroidizing agent in the cast iron industry.
3. It is also a reducing agent in the production of ferro alloys.
